Testimony
At seminary this morning we compared ooblek (cornstarch and water) to our individual testimonies.
The more we worked at them- asking, learning, studying- the more firm they became.
But if we stopped it quickly melted away.
Not that the nature of the substance changed, but our interaction with it.
Likewise a neglected testimony can soon slip through our hands before we know it.
In Mosiah 4:9 we read, “Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.”
This is where we start.
Belief in God.
So don’t worry about the parts you don’t yet comprehend.
Focus instead on whose plan it is.
And if for whatever reason you’ve let go of that testimony, start again.
Pick up that first piece.
And begin again.
