All Things

Yesterday I was the recipient of a miracle- God's hand with tender mercy that I believe was answering the prayers and well wishes of so many good people.

Imperfect people who have their own struggles in a world full of difficulties but paused to join together asking for Heaven's help for me.

And the swelling in my throat drastically I decreased, completely surprising my ENT who is the doctor who requested my hospitalization and transfer here.

That by itself was a beautiful thing which offers me great relief.

But that difficulty, also meant that we caught my covid infection at the very beginning and were able to start the treatments at the absolute optimal time to get these results we seem to be seeing.

For two years I have known I was high risk.  I was careful but continued my life and washed my hands about ten thousand times at school and after being in public.  I had three vaccinations.  I distanced and  I monitored my lupus as best as I could but knew it was getting worse and I followed up with my doctor.

I also made it to the day after school got out.  It seemed like an unfair burden, but as the doctor explained I will need to be resting much more and taking things slowly over the next 4-6 weeks I am truly grateful for the timing which will allow me to heal.

I have learned that even when total healing and complete escape from trials don't come as we might hope, not to let myself miss the little miracles, the hugs from our Heavenly Parents and Savior, that are embedded within the trials.

Sister Susan W Tanner shared, "We are given this insight in Doctrine and Covenants   D&C 90:24 “Search diligently, pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good, if ye walk uprightly.” This stunning promise from the Lord that all things shall work together for our good is repeated many times in the scriptures, particularly to people or prophets who are suffering through the trials of their own life stories.

I sense that this promise comes from a tender, caring Father who desires to bless us and give us reason to hope through our earthly journey. Knowing that eventually all things will work together for our good will help us endure affliction like the faithful people from the scriptures who knew of His promises and trusted in them, “having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them”  Heb. 11:13 We too can embrace this promise."

It takes a leap of faith - bigger for some than others depending upon where we are in our spiritual journeys and development at the moment- to truly believe that ALL things will work together for our good.

But I am working on believing that.

On trusting the timing that is so very different than our society of instant gratification.

Of instead trusting eternity.

I am working on walking uprightly.

Taking even tiny shuffling steps but keeping my chin up with an eye on the things of eternity.  An eye forward with the help and prompting of the Holy Spirit.

And sometimes it's steps completely alone and right now its steps with an army of loved ones.

Thank you my friends. ❤️
