Kind words
A student has been out sick for several days.
His teacher gathered the class today, knowing I was dropping some things by his house, and quickly gathered his class and asked that this be included.
He didn't worry about buying a fancy card or delay until they could create a fully polished project.
He used what he had and the moment available to encourage and uplift.
This little boy will remember getting this.
How do I know?
Because I saw the response of his mom when I dropped it off. And I remember the cards and letters my own kids got over the years.
And the kind words I have received from friends and family at just the right moment.
Written words are a lasting reminder that someone cared.
Elder Joseph B Wirthlin said, "Kind words not only lift our spirits in the moment they are given, but they can linger with us over the years."
I want to be more like this teacher.
