New Beginnings
I love fresh starts.
Or at least the illusion of fresh starts.
The smell of new crayons when school starts.
A brand new pair of shoes.
Or a new planner for the year.
Being January 1st, I retrieved my new planner from the cupboard where it's been patiently waiting since October.
I ran my hands over the smooth cover and shiny stickers inside.
And I reminded myself that the benefits this tool will bring to my life are directly proportional to my consistency in using it.
Kind of like the scriptures.
But I do love the cover and the scripture from Psalms reminds me that peace will come not from the world or outside accomplishment, but from the Lord.
Jesus has said to come and follow Him.
He has promised to help lighten our burdens.
He has said He will offer us peace, not as the world does, but that which is eternal, and we shouldn't be afraid.
Our Heavenly Parents and Older Brother have said that our spiritual success and return to their presence is their very work and glory.
Why would I trust anyone or anything else?
