Help Me Lord

I was in a kindergarten classroom helping a teacher give a math test when I overheard this conversation.

Student lets out a wail.

Teacher:"What's wrong?"

Student:"This is HARD!!"

Teacher:"Well you can do hard things.  What do you do when things are hard?"

The little guy looked at her and then without missing a beat looked straight up at the ceiling and exclaimed, "Help me Lord!! Help me!"

His automatic go to response for hard things was to send up a prayer.

Why, oh, why do I sometimes wait so long?

As the hymn teaches, "Did you think to pray?"

My little friend found that he remembered the answer after all and with his arms lifted in praise offered a quick "Thank you, Jesus!"

It definitely won't always be that quick.  But help will come.  And we always do better with Him, than without.
