Good Enough

 "

Everyone go through these magazines and cut out pictures, words and phrases that show what you are like when you are at your best overall "wellness".

Memories of countless school and youth activities that followed the same pattern came to mind as I set my glue stick and scissors next to my construction paper and got to work.

Several minutes later, my friend Marge, sitting next to me gave a triumphant laugh and held her paper up.  "Look what I did! I made Good Enough out of Good Housekeeping!"

We all laughed and praised her and talked for a few minutes at our table about how an important part of overall wellness is realizing we are enough as is.

Trying to be perfect is a waste of time because we fail before we start.

Only one person ever was.

Jesus Christ.

Elder Dieder F Uchtdorf pled with us all to remember, "He knows everything about you. He sees you clearly—He knows you as you really are. And He loves you—today and always!

Do you suppose it matters to our Heavenly Father whether your makeup, clothes, hair, and nails are perfect? Do you think your value to Him changes based on how many followers you have on Instagram or Pinterest? Do you think He wants you to worry or get depressed if some un-friend or un-follow you on Facebook or Twitter? Do you think outward attractiveness, your dress size, or popularity make the slightest difference in your worth to the One who created the universe?

He loves you not only for who you are this very day but also for the person of glory and light you have the potential and the desire to become."

Does your kitchen safely store food and provide meals?

It is good enough.

Does your vehicle get you from point A to point B?

It is good enough.

Do you love your children and try to provide for and care for them?

You are good enough.

Do you love God and keep trying when you fall, asking for his help and leaning on your Savior?

You!

Are good enough.

But oh, the places and opportunities he has waiting for you!!
