The beauty around us is meant to be a part of the joy.


We were created for joy.


Real joy. 


"May you be blessed by the God of Autumn who opens your eyes to the glorious colors of tree and bush and sky. May your heart be open to the colors of God's love and care for you. May you learn the lesson of letting go into God's desire for you. May you be a companion to those who are in the autumn of life and may your own changing years be filled with the glow of God's glory. May the blessing of Autumn be yours."

  General - “relating to all” Conference-  “coming together and talk” What a great blessing it is to have the opportunity to listen and learn from inspired leaders. Some years the house is sparkling and a nice spread of treats, sandwiches and fresh baked cinnamon rolls grace the table. Gardening and Comparing

  Yesterday my husband told me I needed to harvest my radishes.  Some were starting to go to seed. So after work I went out and picked a bunch of them as well as my second picking of lettuce. Odd as it is, radishes are among my favorite foods on the planet, and my dad loves them too. So I sent a picture of my harvest with a note wishing they were close enough to share. In response, I received a picture of their radishes- 1/4” green leaves pushing up through the soil. Now it could be easy to think I’m the better gardener.   Which would be blatantly false.   My dad is a master gardener. I am a lazy gardener.  While I did actually hoe some weeds once already, I leave a lot to chance because of my lack of consistency. And my husband did all the bed preparation and planting even though I’m the one who likes to eat vegetables.   However, we have had an insanely warm May.   And my dad says their May was one of the coldest he could remember. The choice is yours

 I walked into work with a smile.  Seminary was a great start to the day. Dinner was in the crockpot at home.   My work emails were almost caught up and I had a bit of a bounce to my step. It was only 7:34 and I was getting into the rhythm. Then the loud speaker came on. "Photographers are ready for picture day for all staff members right now in the auditorium." And I froze in a bit of horror. For the first time in 11 years I forgot. And today I was wearing a tee shirt, with my hair pulled back and no makeup. And lets be honest that's a truer picture of me- but NOT ON PICTURE DAY! Not for all my staff IDs and school media. 😔 I felt foolish and a bit embarassed as I lined up next to my coworkers in their professional best.  Much like I wore YESTERDAY. And suddenly it felt like it was going to be a terrible day.   A heatwave, no a/c in the truck, infusion, miss my old friends, why can't I do anything right kind  of day.
