Brains

I was in a training today and the presenter was reminding us to never forget that no two brains are alike.

It was a math training and she was showing us how when presented with a situational problem we came up with a myriad of different approaches.

While there were some values and answers that were inherently wrong, there were also many different correct ways to get to the answer.

When we fail to allow for those varying approaches, we miss out on the opportunity to make connections and help others learn and maximize their potential.

We use those same unique brains in our approaches and understanding to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We read and interpret scriptures in different ways.

We are guided by the Holy Spirit and can definitely be assisted by wise and inspired leader leaders.

But we still need to remember that no two brains are alike.

2 Nephi 31:3

“For the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding.”

“Unto their understanding”.

What a comfort that its okay to see and hear and learn at our own pace and in our own personal way.

The doctrines and truths don’t change, and no amount of rationalization can alter that.

But our individual path to understanding and personal revelation is our own.

No two brains are alike- and that is how our Heavenly Father designed it!
